Co-op responds to trolley campaign

The Channel Islands Co-operative Society will soon have a number of the trolleys, which have seats big enough for older children, in its St Helier and St Peter Grand Marché stores.

The decision to order the trolleys was made after Jane Renouf, whose son Jayden has autism, launched an online campaign earlier this month asking for Island supermarkets to introduce them. More than 200 people have signed the petition to date.

The CI Co-operative Society has already introduced a number of measures to make shopping easier for people with disabilities, including hearing loops and on-shelf magnifiers.
