Boxer ‘ripped to pieces’ in fourth attack by same dog

The attack marks the fourth time in around four years that Ringo the boxer has been mauled by the same Staffordshire bull terrier-type dog, according to owner Andrina Carter.

The 34-year-old, who lives in St Clement, said that in the most recent attack Ringo’s left leg was ‘ripped to pieces’ and he suffered wounds to his genitals.

The dog underwent emergency surgery after the ordeal four weeks ago, but the injures were so severe that it nearly cost him his life.

Weeks after the attack vets had to drain fluid from his wound and warned Mrs Carter and her husband Jamie, who have three children, that their pet could go into septic shock and die.

Ringo managed to pull through, however, and Mrs Carter said he is now on the road to recovery.
