As a result, she did a U-turn at the western end of Victoria Avenue in front of the hamburger stall car park.
The couple were arrested after her driving was reported to police by a concerned member of the public.
This led to both parties appearing in court, both for driving while uninsured and the husband also for allowing his wife to drive without insurance.
The pair pleaded guilty to three charges and the husband also admitted eight parking offences, including parking in disabled bays in town without the necessary permit.
