Revealed: The cost of a cuppa with the States

A Freedom of Information request has revealed that in 2016, the States spent a total of £49,731 on their milk delivery contract, £34,381 on their working lunches contracts and £13,031 on their Fairtrade tea and coffee contract.

The totals were collated from all departments which put their orders through the Supply Jersey purchasing tool. Not all States departments use the tool.

Of the departments that do use the tool, the Infrastructure Department spent the most last year on States employee refreshments – £47,644. The Economic Development Department spent the least – £5,589. The Chief Minister’s Department spent £16,599.
