Although the mail plane landed yesterday before the weather closed in, the bulk of overdue incoming mail – including first-class and special-delivery items – is having to come by boat with the second-class post.
Kenan Osborne, interim operations director at Jersey Post, said: ‘We are continuing to clear the backlog caused by the adverse weather since Friday.
All outgoing mail between Friday and Monday which was destined for the UK and worldwide destinations left the Island by boat yesterday evening.
