The man was detained shortly after 1.20 am yesterday as he drove the vehicle down the street. The States police said that he stopped the tractor when requested and was arrested on suspicion of motoring offences and taken into custody. No one was injured.
The tractor was seen at other locations during the course of the week, including La Collette, the Harbour and on the pavement outside Sports Direct.
According to numerous Facebook posts, the man had a parrot with him at various times during the day, although the bird had apparently disappeared by the time he was arrested.
The alleged suspect’s accomplice is described as mainly green, with a grey head and about six inches tall.
The States police said that they were looking at various lines of inquiry.
