Don’t hesitate to tell us of any child abuse, urge police

Detective Superintendent Stewart Gull said that suspicions could be reported to the police, to the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Hub, which links the police, Health, Education and Family Nursing and Home Care, or to Crimestoppers, and anonymously if desired.

He said: ‘To report a concern is brave and courageous. I understand it can be difficult, but which would you rather – risk not reporting an incident of sexual or even physical abuse, or put your mind at rest and potentially safeguard a child?

‘Don’t hesitate, call the police, call MASH, get in touch with Crimestoppers anonymously.

The officer was speaking after the conviction of former d’Hautrée music teacher Christopher Bacon was made public earlier this month.
