Steve Falle, who lives in St Saviour, lost his wallet containing all his credit cards and several pounds on Monday afternoon, but just as he started to assume the worst, it was handed in to the States police with cards and cash intact.
Mr Falle, who works for JT, says he cycled to work the next day with renewed faith in human nature.
But when he finished work hours later he found that his bicycle – a black Trek 7100 hybrid model – had been pinched from the bike racks at Cattle Street.
