Senator Ozouf: Finance Centre helping to make town ‘prettier’

Senator Philip Ozouf said that for years he had ‘dreamt’ of quashing the common belief that St Peter Port in Guernsey was more attractive than St Helier and he believed that the six-building project was part of the plan to make Jersey’s capital ‘prettier’.

He praised the States of Jersey Development Company, which is developing the site, for recently securing a deal with financial services firm Sanne to take over 50 per cent of the second building, known as Building Five.

Sanne joined BNP Paribas and UBS in signing up for floor space in the development. All three firms are already based in Jersey and according to Lee Henry, managing director of the JDC, another four companies interested in the first building, known as Building Four, also have offices in the Island.
