Salvation Army’s new ‘Hub’ a boost for the community

The Bailiff, William Bailhache, cut the ribbon during a ceremony which was also attended by Colonel David Hinton, the chief secretary to the Salvation Army in the UK and Ireland and second in command of the organisation.

The centre, at the charity’s headquarters in Minden Street, took nine months to build and includes a modern eatery and a number of private meeting rooms and offices which can be used by other charities, agencies and groups.

Captain Steven Scoulding, from Salvation Army Jersey Corps, said that finishing the project had left him with mixed emotions.
