Web ‘hate campaign’ targets Arctic Village

James Cole says the Weighbridge-based village has been unfairly criticised online while stall holder Aida de la Herrán said that negative comments on social media were having a detrimental affect on the Jersey-based traders who have rented a chalet at the event.

The village, which opened on 24 November, has been subject to swathes of online criticism and a dedicated online page has been set up calling on Islanders to boycott the event.

Mr Cole said: ‘We have had a hate campaign directed at us from a number of people. They have been taking photos during the middle of the day when the kids have been at school and people have been working and have said that there is no one here and it is overpriced.
