Date with Royalty for Islanders receiving honours

During a ceremony at Buckingham Palace yesterday, Dr Tessa Hartmann received her CBE for services to the British fashion industry, while Round The Island Walk founder Paul Owen received an MBE for services to the community. Both the honours were presented by Prince William.

Islander Pauline Graham, who has fostered 90 children during the last 24 years, collected her MBE from the Queen during a ceremony at Windsor Castle last week.

Mrs Graham (63) told how the Queen was surprised when she learned about the number of children she had fostered.
