JEP Cash 4 Schools winners to receive share of £15,000

Twenty-seven primaries are set to receive a share of £10,000 depending on how many tokens they collected.

Three schools will get a further cash prize, ranging from £1,250 to £2,500 as the recipients of the One Foundation Award which helps schools to fund projects that interact with the wider community.

FCJ have been given £2,500 to enable pupils to grow fruit and vegetables that will be given to charities such as the Grace Trust.

Grouville School are due to receive £1,250 and want to use the money to host a group of ten people from Enable Jersey, formerly known as Jersey Society for the Disabled, once every half-term.

The pupils hope to treat their guests to food grown in the school allotment and to teach them IT skills during their visits.

St George’s Preparatory School will also be given £1,250 to fund the construction of an outdoor woodland classroom and ‘mud kitchen’ which will be accessible to all schools and nurseries.
