Henrique de Jesus, who lives in Green Road, returned home on Monday evening to discover that a thief had broken down a door at the rear of the property, cut through the wire of his animals’ enclosures and taken them.
Mr de Jesus said: ‘I came home at about 5 o’clock and my uncle asked me what had happened to the rabbits and chickens. When I looked, they had gone. I have no idea who did it.
The 25-year-old said that because the animals were in a secluded location, the theft must have been planned. He added that the intruder may have tried to take the animals the night before, as his uncle had heard dogs barking.
