Superman brother’s nerves of steel put him in command

Lt-Col Cavill – brother of Superman star Henry Cavill – has been handed control of 30 Commando Information Exploitation Group, an elite unit of the Royal Marines.

The former Victoria College student was made an MBE in 2012 for helping to capture a senior Taliban commander after he led his men, X-Ray Company of 45 Commando, on dangerous foot patrols in Nad-e Ali South district of Afghanistan’s Helmand province.

He was one of 131 officers recognised in the operational honours list for their efforts in the country during the 2012 Operation Herrick.
