Public inquiry is called over Tamba Park plans

Deputy Steve Luce has used his ministerial powers to call in entrepreneur Jonathan Ruff’s latest planning application, which includes adding mini-golf, paintball, bowling, ice-skating, go-karting and 15 homes to the site.

The plans are now due to be examined by an independent planning inspector, who will also hear views from the developer, the Planning Department, interested parties and objectors at the hearing.

Neighbours of the St Lawrence and St Mary entertainment park have voiced strong opposition to the move to expand the Tamba Park operation.

They said the area would be affected by an increase in traffic if the plans were approved, and also raised concerns that the move could set a precedent for greenhouses to be demolished and replaced by homes.
