Contributions to States pensions ‘not sustainable’

The warning comes following figures from public finance accounts that show that States chief executive John Richardson had accumulated a pension pot of over £2.5 million.

Several other high-ranking civil servants have pots of well over a million pounds, including Health and Social Services Chief Officer Julie Garbutt and former States Greffier Michael De La Haye.

The accounts also revealed that Mr Richardson was earning between £205,000 and £210,000 a year while Mrs Garbutt has an annual salary of between £180,000 and £185,000.
