Organised by Freedom Media, Kitchen Inferno 2016 took place at the Hotel de France and featured celebrity chef John Torode, who presents TV’s MasterChef. And after enjoying a night of fine food, the 150 guests voted Team Red the winners.
Four professional chefs – Michelin-starred chef Steve Smith and Ellen de Jager Smith of Bohemia, David Cameron of Liberation Group and Phani Kundeti of Saffrons at Hotel de France – trained and worked with the teams.
Team Red, led by Sure’s Jon McCulloch, was made up of Simon Chapman of the Accident and Emergency Department, Peter Blampied of home furnishings company A Certain Curtain, ITV’s Mark McQuillan, David Tupper of The Tupper Loan Company, Lynne Capie of Appleby Global, Steve Martin of Jersey Cheshire Home, Hugh Munro of Optimus, Ben Shenton of Team Asset Management, Julia Melia of Ogier and Giorgina Marzana of Sure.
Team Blue, led by Kevin Allenby of Omega Financial Services, was made up of his daughter Louise, William Church of Jersey Royal Company, Karl Moss of Charge Point, Alan Brown of Highlands College, the JEP’s Shannyn Quinn, Andy Stubbs of Jacksons, Jason Lewis of Lloyds Bank International, David Wild of First Names Group and Gillian Martindale-Parsons of Jersey Chamber of Commerce.
