As a result a public open day due to take place on Friday has been cancelled. The official reception due to take place on Thursday also did not take place.
In a statement, Ports of Jersey said severe weather and tidal conditions were to blame.
It added: ‘The ship’s arrival has also been hampered by the technical difficulties experienced by the visiting tug boat, Sandsfoot, which was requested from Portland (Dorset) to assist Jersey’s tug boat Duke of Normandy in ensuring a safe passage into the harbour of such a large vessel.’
