Care worker assaults woman with pair of sandals

The 26-year-old attacked the woman when she ‘became embroiled in a melee’ at the taxi rank at 2.15 am on 21 August.

Police legal adviser Susie Sharpe said that at least two men and two women were involved and there was a large amount of pushing and shoving taking place. She said that the defendant ran into the melee and was seen pushing people.

The court heard that the defendant, of Grande Route de St Martin, St Saviour, received a punch to the face before a man took her to one side. He was then pushed by a woman in a yellow dress and then the defendant reacted by attacking her.
