The Romanian national, of Green Street, assaulted the woman at the Spicy Bangkok restaurant in Colomberie in the early hours of 28 August.
Police legal adviser Ann Reddrop said that CCTV footage from inside the restaurant showed there was a 20-minute-long disagreement between the defendant and the victim and the footage also showed him assaulting her.
During the disturbance, the defendant grabbed the woman by the arm and neck with both hands, and grabbed her by the hair and forced her onto the floor, the Magistrate’s Court heard.
