Suppliers are appointed for 2,000 States homes

Andium Homes, which administers the States portfolio of social housing, has announced that it had worked with a sub-committee of residents through a tender process to appoint businesses to carry out a major part of its refurbishment scheme.

Over the next five years the organisation is due to fit 2,468 kitchens and 2,236 bathrooms in order to bring its stock up to Decent Homes Standard – an industry measure used in the UK for providing suitable accommodation.

A service-level agreement for kitchen unit supply has been arranged with Norman Ltd, and one for bathroom fittings has been agreed with UK plumbing parts distributor Wolseley.

Installation is due to be carried out by local firms Calton Ltd and JMEC Ltd.
