Man stole a ticket which was a winner

The 58- year-old man appeared in the Magistrate’s Court and admitted three charges, including cashing the £200 winning ticket.

The court heard that he had booked a one-way ticket to Portsmouth when he collected the cash from the States Treasury on 26 July.

Centenier David Webber, prosecuting, said that after realising that she had won, the woman had taken a photograph of the ticket.

Later, when she could not find the ticket, she went to police headquarters to report it missing in case it had been handed in.
