Pub ban ends in another sentence for drugs and drink

The defendant is to be sentenced for four offences after he pleaded guilty to causing a breach of the peace by fighting, assaulting a police sergeant and possession of the class A drug ecstasy and class B drug cannabis.

At an earlier hearing, the Magistrate’s Court heard that the 20-year-old of Kensington Place had taken ecstasy and had drunk 15 bottles of Stella Artois lager as well as a number of ‘shots’ while out celebrating on 18 September.

Before his arrest he had been drinking in the Havana Club in Bath Street.
