The States police said that the man, who was riding a black Piaggio Vespa, collided with a parked vehicle in St Mark’s Road at about 9.30 am.
Following the collision, the motorcycle could be seen lying on its side underneath the rear of a white van.
The police and the Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene by ambulance crews.
The road was closed and motorists were diverted away from the scene while emergency services dealt with the situation.
