Investors face losing life savings in Lumiere closure

Making the winding-up application Advocate Elena Moran told the Jersey court that investors had wrongly believed that their money was being placed with the two Brazilian companies.

DOZENS of Channel Islands residents could lose thousands of pounds of their life savings after a financial advisory firm which sold them investments was closed down.

Lumiere Wealth, which operated from offices at Castle Quay since last year, is to be wound up following a Royal Court hearing.

Islanders have been urged to contact the  Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman ‘without delay’ if they invested in the funds.

The company, which promoted Providence Investment Funds PCC, a Guernsey-registered fund promising investors up to 14 per cent returns from a Brazilian financing operation, has been under investigation by the Jersey Financial Services Commission for several months.
