Baggage handlers’ strike threat still on at Airport

On Saturday dozens of Airport baggage handlers and ground staff took part in a 24-hour strike over pay and conditions.

They have now sent the management a letter informing them of plans to work to contract at some point in the coming weeks.

The action will see staff refusing to work overtime and working the minimum required by the rules of their contract.

The Airport authorities said that the strike did not cause any significant disruption to travellers.
