Senator Sarah Ferguson, who lives in the bay, has lodged an amendment to the MTFP Addition requesting that the sum be ring-fenced to fund a new long-term development plan for the area.
The report accompanying the amendment says that a local strategy is required for the bay because guidelines in the 2011 Island Plan, which sets planning policy, were ‘confusing’ and could result in it becoming over-developed.’
It adds that an amendment to the Island Plan to produce a local development plan for the bay was approved by the States in 2011.
