Brexit team given £1.75m to protect Island’s interests

Treasury Minister Alan Maclean has also approved the release of £324,000 to support the office of Jersey’s information commissioner, Emma Martins, so that the Island can stay in line with the EU’s new data protection regime, which is due to be introduced in 2018.

And a further £107,000 has also been allocated to help develop the Island’s digital sector by the minister.

The spending is the first wave of funding from the Economic and Productivity Growth Drawdown Provision fund, which contains £18.5 million set aside to boost the Island’s economy over the next three years.
