Hugh Raymond said issues such as improving the force’s social-media presence and introducing an Islandwide honorary uniform were top of the agenda.
He also called for children to be taught about the honorary system in schools and suggested that officers could visit classrooms on a regular basis.
The issues are due to be discussed at an Honorary Police Association meeting tomorrow following a visit by two volunteer officers from Avon and Somerset Police earlier this month.
