Firefighters were called to a property on Belmount Road at about 3.30 pm on Saturday after receiving a call from the cat’s owners saying they had found the feline trapped in a part of a domestic heating oil tank.
To free the pet, called Kinta, crews created an opening in a block wall to allow JSPCA staff to reach the cat.
Once freed, Kinta was freed and returned to its owners.
