New restrictions for watching air display

Increase safety measures have been introduced in the wake of the Shoreham air disaster last year.

On both the practice day, Wednesday 7 September between 1pm and 5pm, as well as the afternoon of the Air Display on Thursday 8 September, between 12.30 pm and 5 pm, the following safety measures will be put in place:

· The marine exclusion zone in St Aubin’s Bay, which prevents the use of watercraft, including jet skis in the area, has been extended and now stretches between the southern end of Elizabeth Castle breakwater and St Aubin’s Fort, including the waters around La Haule

· Access to and from St Aubin’s Harbour and its outer moorings by watercraft will be prohibited during this period and St Aubin’s Fort will be closed to the public

· Pedestrian and vessel access to and from Elizabeth Marina, including the pier arm, will not be allowed

· Elizabeth Castle will be closed to the public

· The beach between Elizabeth Marina and St Aubin’s Harbour will be closed to the public
