Ministers asked to give full details of States cuts

During a Corporate Services Scrutiny Panel hearing, St John Constable Chris Taylor called on Treasury Minister Alan Maclean to provide more clarity on how cuts outlined in the Medium Term Financial Plan Addition, which was published in June, may affect public services.

His colleague Deputy John Le Fondré asked the minister directly whether services such as Hautlieu School, Visit Jersey and the Jersey Music Service could lose out if the Addition is approved.

Mr Taylor said that ministers had in the past not made it clear whether specific services might be affected by spending cuts when financial plans were tabled for approval.
