You need back-up for Liberation, Condor are warned

At a meeting with Channel Island politicians, Paul Luxon was advised to purchase a second-hand ferry to support the Liberation with the view to purchasing a purpose-built vessel in a few years’ time.

Calls also came for Condor to introduce a new passenger-only inter-island service.

The recommendations were made by Guernsey’s Economic Development vice-president Jan Kuttelwascher during the meeting with Condor bosses.

And Ian Barnes, president of the Jersey Hospitality Association, said that Condor’s main concern should be sorting out its northern route, especially as winter approaches and bad weather is expected to put more pressure on the Liberation.
