Doubts over Flannels.com’s takeover of former BHS site

Last week Flannels.com, one of the UK’s leading premium retailers, revealed that it had bought the site of the former BHS store in King Street for £18 million and intends to create 50 new jobs.

The company expects to open the new store at Christmas time after refurbishing the premises.

Gerald Voisin, who owns Voisins in King Street, said that while it was too early to say what kind of impact Flannels.com would have on the town centre, he could not be sure whether Jersey has enough big-spending customers to go round.
