Fifty new jobs as BHS site gets new owners

It was announced that designer clothing chain Flannels, owned by controversial retailer Sports Direct, had bought the King Street site, which was formerly occupied by British Home Stores, for £18 million.

It is anticipated that the high-end retailer’s new store will be opened before Christmas after it has been refurbished.

Flannels has also recently opened a flagship store in Oxford Street in London and has branches in Manchester, Liverpool, Leeds, Birmingham and Cardiff, as well as several other UK cities.
