Durrell bring in ID checks after membership misuse

Durrell said that the deliberate misuse of membership cards had upset team members and that the admission ticket was crucial to funding its work of saving endangered species.

An email has been issued to all the wildlife park’s members saying that from Thursday 1 September, Durrell will ask for proof of identity when membership cards are presented. An individual membership for an Islander costs £4 a month.

An adult ticket to the park costs £14.50 and a ticket for children cost £10. Mr Keen said that Durrell’s admission fees equate to more than £1 million a year, and roughly £800,000 of that was from membership fees.
