The selfie smugglers – drug traffickers smiled into the camera as they tried to swamp Jersey with £224,000 worth of heroin

Liverpool-born career criminals Michael Thomas Calvert (37) and Steven Paul Moore (39) took the’ selfies’ after their RIB arrived at Gorey Harbour – as a team of undercover police officers looked on.

The two men were arrested a short time later with the stash, which authorities say it is the largest single seizure of the class A drug so far this year.

The Superior Number of the Royal Court, who convene only for the most serious cases, heard that the duo worked as a team to import the huge haul on board a RIB hired in Normandy.
