Aye-aye, what’s this? Rare lemur baby born at Durrell

And after just a few months’ courting, the pair are now the proud parents of a baby aye-aye – the first to be born at the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust for 13 years.

Keepers announced the arrival this week of the yet-to-be-named animal, who was born to first-time parents Ala and Pan.

The arrival follows Ala’s introduction to Durrell last September after she was brought in from Tokyo’s Ueno Zoo in the hope that she would breed with Pan.
