DORSET police boarded the Condor Liberation in Poole on Monday following a security alert.

Officers searched the fast ferry and the terminal building at about 6.20 am, causing the vessel to leave Poole 75 minutes after it was due to depart.

Nothing was found and the police say they believe the call was a hoax.

Condor cancelled the Liberation’s morning trip to Guernsey following the delay and instead travelled straight from the UK to Jersey.
