£380k stimulant for inventor’s coffee-brewing alarm clock

Product designer Josh Renouf launched a crowd-funding campaign at the end of May in an attempt to secure financing for his invention, which is called the Barisieur.

The device is a sleek re-imagining of the Teasmade and combines an alarm clock with an automated ‘brewing station’ for hot drinks.

The former Victoria College student, who recently discussed his creation in person with Sir Richard Branson, designed the gadget as part of his final year of study at university and despite not being commercially available, the machine was named best product of 2014 by BuzzFeed, a major internet news site.
