And as well as providing greater financial backing to support the tourism industry, the department also plans to focus on developing Jersey’s sports, retail, cultural and arts sectors.
Economic Development Minister Lyndon Farnham said that his department’s priority was to build confidence across all of the Island’s industries.
The department agreed to increase funding to Visit Jersey, following the release of its Destination Plan, which which sets out plans to increase visitor numbers to Jersey to one million a year by 2030. It is unknown how much more money will be provided at this time.
