Celtic Park pays tribute to Clinton

Huge banners, one picturing the three-year-old with his father Michael, were erected in the Scottish champion’s home ground, Celtic Park, during their pre-season match with Leicester City at the weekend.

They were greeted by a minute of rapturous applause from the 32,000 fans in attendance and one of the banners read: ‘Clinton the bravest little lion with the biggest heart.’

The three-year-old Celtic fan, who would regularly watch games with his father, was killed as he crossed Tunnell Street to go into Millennium Town Park while on holiday in the Island last month. He was airlifted to Southampton Hospital but died less than a week later.
