Condor refuse to drop pet travel charge despite pensioner’s plea

Dog owner Alan Wright says he has spent around £1,800 in the past three years transporting his eight-year-old West Highland terrier, Lucy, back from France after holidays.

Concerned about why his dog’s ticket was costing more than his wife’s, Mr Wright (71) wrote to then Condor chief executive James Fulford in 2013 who agreed to introduce an ‘annual fee’ of £50 for pet owners.

But after Mr Fulford left his role in 2014, Mr Wright spoke to numerous other Condor employees and was eventually told that the pay-as-you-go charge would remain in place.
