Elaine, whose entry was a bowl of white, iceberg roses, said that she was both surprised and delighted, describing her blooms as a very old variety of rose.
Best in show went to Peter and Angela Goguelin and five of the other awards went to Graham Quérée for his hybrid tea varieties. Other winners were Richard and Louise Noel with a miniature rose displayed in a frame and Richard Miles who had the best hybrid tea rose judged on the second day of the event.
