E-bike grant offer changed to eke out funds

Under the terms of the scheme, which launched earlier this month, Islanders have been offered a discount of £300 for any e-bike they purchase.

More than 200 Islanders have already received e-bike grants and the States, which set aside £50,000 a year for each of the next three years, has now allocated the first year’s tranche of money.

In order to make the available money last for the entire three years, the scheme will now be amended, meaning that from tomorrow the grant will only be for 20 per cent of the value of an electric bike, up to a maximum of £300.
