Food and atmosphere worth a million in Jersey

JERSEY can achieve the target of one million visitors a year if it focuses on promoting local food and creating a relaxed, informal atmosphere, according to a hotel expert.

Filipe Boyen, the chief executive of Small Luxury Hotels, was in the Island recently as a guest of the Acorn Jersey Open 2015 golf tournament.

And the Belgian was full of praise for the Island, which he says has a bright future as a holiday destination.

‘I’ve been in lots of places that could be considered as up and coming and Jersey seems to be similar, to some extent. What I liked was the co-operation between the government and the private sector'
