Granite property proposed for the St Helier green zone

Richard Griffiths, who moved to Jersey in 2009 after making his money in finance and developing a successful beef and sheep farm in Wales, has applied to demolish Augrès House and replace it with a large granite-clad property in the style of a farmhouse complex.

An earlier set of plans to demolish and rebuild parts of the home in Oaklands Lane, near Grands Vaux reservoir, was approved in 2013, but the latest scheme proposes a new approach.

Under the scheme, a main house and large guest wing would be created with an attached kitchen and pool wing, alongside a glasshouse and kitchen garden and the existing swimming pool would be removed and replaced elsewhere, as would the property’s tennis court.
