Half-term air arrivals up by 3,200

Cheaper flights to Jersey would help boost tourism figures, say JEP Facebook followers

AROUND 3,200 more passengers arrived in Jersey by air during the recent half-term period compared to the same time last year, according to figures from Ports of Jersey.

A total of 25,636 people passed through arrivals during the the one-week period.

Alan Donald, group marketing and communications manager for Ports of Jersey, described the figures as very encouraging.

Keith Beecham, chief executive of Visit Jersey, which last week unveiled a new brand as part of its plans to attract one million visitors a year by 2030, said that the figures should not be taken at face-value but that the signs were encouraging.
