Chalet homes at Ouaisné to be upgraded

The authorities have approved outline plans to bring down four disused cabins at Ollivier’s Farm in St Brelade so that they can be replaced with sustainable buildings in the hope that the move will improve the area.

Land owner Ben Ollivier plans to build himself a unit on one of the disused plots at the site, off Mont du Ouaisné, which is home to 16 cabin-style chalets.

The outline approval, which establishes the principle of rebuilding at the farm, is the latest development in a long-running situation that previously meant that tenants were unsure whether their homes would be secure in the future and under the plans, the 16 occupied cabins would be retained, while the four disused units would be demolished and replaced.
